PORSCHE 911

April 16th, 2020

The incredible market success of the three-litre unit produced from 1978 onwards prompted Porsche to introduce a 3.2-litre version six years later – this was the last engine variant available before the debut of its successor, the 964 model. There were many changes compared to the three-litre “super Carrera” – the styling was refreshed, new suspension and improved brakes. The name Carrera appeared on the hatch instead of the letters SC. The biggest changes, however, were mechanical. The existing 3.0 six-cylinder engine was replaced by a larger unit. The 3.2-liter engine differed from its predecessor in 80% of parts. Among other things, the crankshaft from the Turbo version was used, the compression ratio increased and a new exhaust system was fitted – from 1987 onwards all cars were fitted with the magnificent G50 gearbox. The 911 Carrera 3.2 is considered by many to be the best classic 911.

As of today, the car has 155,000 miles and shows very well. A full service history with an 80+ page binder of invoices is available with the car. Some of the accessories include a front bumper and a rear spoiler flap, probably installed in the 1990s. The last long-term owner of the car was the president of one of the American Porsche clubs. He took care of the interior refreshment and a new roof, among other things. The car was used very occasionally, as it has covered less than 1000 miles in the last 5 years, and was part of a larger Porsche collection. This copy today presents very well and is ready for the summer season.

MERCEDES 560SL

March 19th, 2020

The Mercedes SL series R107 appeared on the market in the 1970s, and its goal was to be much better than the potential competition. The successor to the Pagoda had a lightweight design, was visually smaller than the Pagoda, and presented lines close to what Mercedes design had become in the 1980s. Initially, customers could only choose from a forked eight. The weaker engine had a capacity of 3.5 liters and developed 200 horsepower. In 1973 it was joined by a 4.5 liter unit, which was 25 hp more powerful. In later years the SL was also fitted with 3.8 or 4.2 liter engines, as well as the fantastic 5.0 and 5.6 liter units, the latter appearing at the turn of 1985 and 1986, and reserved only for the United States and Japan. The Mercedes R107 was the second longest production car of the brand after the G-Class. It was produced for 18 years until 1989, when it was replaced by the SL R129. A total of 237,287 SL models were produced.

This Mercedes 560SL left the factory in a very classic color combination of white paint and blue interior. Brought to Poland last year and currently with 128,000 miles on the clock, this car is in perfect condition and shows 32 years of age. This consists of a clean ownership history – the car has changed hands only once in the U.S., and has been in the same hands for 20 years, a Swiss citizen living permanently across the water, and a comprehensive service history. The car is now ready for the summer season and can be driven away on wheels.

Report from the first Classics Station rally

August 5th, 2019

We can count another event organized at the Classics Station as a success. Namely, it is the Tourist Rally of Classic Porsches, which took place on July 20, 2019. Thanks to the brilliantly designed rally route, great organization and, of course, the participants, the atmosphere was simply excellent. A variety of cars from the classic Porsche stable appeared at the start of the rally, from the Porsche 356 C, through various generations of the Porsche 911, as well as the 944. There were also participants at the helm of a classic Mercedes or Mustang. On the picturesque route of the rally, which was led through the forest roads of Kampinos, there were stops waiting for the participants, which included questions and skill tasks. The rally was complemented by an atmospheric meeting in the midst of classic cars, a delicious barbecue and, of course, the awarding of prizes to the best contestants of the rally. We would like to thank Porsche Club Poland for creating such a fantastic atmosphere, which brought together fans of classic cars – not only Porsche. We’re also glad that we were able to welcome a couple, who set off around the world in their Porsche 911, to Warsaw on the very day of the rally, and what’s more, they were one of the crews taking part in it!

Join us soon for more exciting events, with more information coming soon!

July 17th, 2019

Together with Porsche Club Polska we invite you to another meeting – this time a one-day event for classic Porsches.
