The 1973 Jaguar E-Type is one of 7297 Series 3 coupés produced by the British brand. The copy was purchased in 1974 by Willard Stone, an attorney and former president of the Jaguar Club of Northern California. After he left his position as president, the E-Type was stored in the family’s air-conditioned hangar, being used sporadically. Power from the 5.3-liter V12 mated to a 3-speed automatic is transmitted to the rear axle of the vehicle. There is a V12 emblem on the tailgate, and the whole classic design is completed by chrome bumpers with rubber overlays and 15-inch spoke wheels with center lock.
The body roofline for the 2+2 models has been raised to provide space for rear seat passengers. The beige leather interior and black dashboard coordinate with the Sable Brown exterior. The dashboard features a speedometer scaled to 160 mph, a tachometer that measures revs to 7,000 and an odometer that shows the true mileage of 81,000 miles. The factory three-spoke steering wheel is preserved in perfect condition.
