After 1960, when Jaguar took over the shares in German Daimler Motor Company, the ranks of Jaguar luxury cars were joined by new cars presenting even more comfort and prestige. Namely, in cooperation with Vanden Plas – a company producing bodies for exclusive manufacturers, in 1975 the Daimler Vanden Plas model based on the Jaguar XJ Series II made its debut.

The Daimler Vanden Plas presented by the Classics Station is an example from 1977. Its body in comparison to the XJ series II was elongated by 10 cm and many distinctive details were added, such as the notched radiator grille and the mouldings on the tailgate. The car left the factory with the best quality leather interior and air conditioning included in the standard equipment of every Daimler. Out of 1953 produced, each one was hand-finished at the VDP showroom in London. This example is equipped with a 4.2 liter inline six and automatic transmission. After a full service of the engine, suspension and transmission, the car is in perfect mechanical condition. The cornflower-colored paint shows signs of use. The Daimler Vander Plas is a wonderful specimen of a classic limousine which will certainly complement any collection of classics.
